Twelfth Night

Twelfth Night is celebrated by some branches of Christianity and marks the advent of the Epiphany which concludes the Twelve Days of Christmas.

In some traditions twelfth Night is taken to mean the evening of the Twelfth Day itself, namely the sixth of January.

However, in the old custom of treating sunset as the beginning of the following day, Twelfth Night is the evening of the eleventh day, which precedes the twelfth day after Christmas.
