Rob Burlinson grew up in Newcastle Upon Tyne, and from an early age was very interested in subjects such as Astrology, crystals, and spirituality.   After gaining a degree in English, he initially pursued a career in music, and ended up composing music for theatre productions.   It was while in north-east Scotland touring with a show in 2002 he came across the Findhorn Foundation, which, after first visiting, was like being hit by a ‘spiritual sledgehammer’, and after which he was never quite the same again.   He began attending Findhorn regularly, and doing numerous workshops there, including ‘Astroshamism’, with Franco Santoro, ‘Communicating with the Intelligences of Nature’, with Dorothy Maclean (one of the three founders of Findhorn) as well as on ‘Spiritual Development’ and ‘Life Purpose’.

His experiences at Findhorn led him to first train as an Integrative Counsellor, and then do a five year training in crystals and subtle energy with the Vibrational Healing Foundation (VHF) in London.  He gained the qualification of ‘Subtle Energy Medicine Specialist’.

At various times he has also studied sound healing, Astrology and shamanism.

With the support of VHF in 2013 he founded the ‘Academy of Inner Resonance’ a school of subtle energy healing and inner development, that runs a two-year part time Crystal and Energy healing Diploma course at the Holistic Centre in Godalming, Surrey, which is accredited by the ‘Federation of Subtle Energy Medicine’   He also offers workshops and talks in the Surrey area on crystals, astrocrystal therapy, sound healing, and spiritual development and writes articles on various aspects of healing.   Earlier this year he presented a week long workshop ‘Working with crystals and subtle energy’ at the Findhorn Foundation in Scotland.

The Body Secret - The Magic of Resilo

How can the movement in your body be restored after trauma?

What is the difference between structure and motion in the body?

Where does Resilo succeed when e.g. physiotherapy or acupuncture is not appropriate?

The Slocombe family are four generations of medical inventors and therapists.

Chris’s father Keith, a consultant physiotherapist, opened the UK’s first holistic Clinic in 1970 and in Harley Street, London in 1975; using his invention of Resilotherapy.

Chris also developed two therapies, including a modern version of Resilo and opened a College, Clinic and Archive in 2015.

After years of study and apprenticeship he re-structured the works of his father and concentrated on and refined the RESILO Therapy.

Chris received raving testimonials from VIPs like John Cleese: ‘Chris The Magician’,

Sean Connery: ‘You’ve got the touch’,

Wayne Sleep ‘I performed better’,

Arabian Princess ‘Only one who could take the pain away’.

Others named him Magic Hands. Some think he works miracles.

Some believe this is unique and only he can work these wonders but the fact is:

RESILO is a new and teachable technology that brings about stunning results in a body!

What is right and what is wrong?  How do we learn the difference?

How do we define justice and what does that have to do with the law?

Do we find the definition of right and wrong in religion?  Or do our parents teach us?

Elsabe Smit answers this sticky question with some straight answers.

Zen and The Art of Mindfulness

Teri West began entertaining people as a teenager in the ‘60s as a singer/guitarist in pubs and clubs.  Life, and single parenthood intervened, until, after thirty-odd (very odd) nomadic years, pursuing various and diverse occupations, a set of mysterious circumstances led to her becoming a full-time student at Europe’s only School of Storytelling at Emerson College in 1994, when she rashly gave up all secure means of earning a living to concentrate on becoming a ‘professional’ storyteller.  Since then Teri has worked at clubs, parties, theatres and pubs; festivals, fun-days, play-days and fetes, in schools, halls, arts centres, and the street, around the UK, in France, and Japan for a wide variety of audiences.

Solo storytelling shows include:- ‘Gawain & the Green Knight’, ‘Dodgy Doings & Delightful Ditties’, ‘Speaking to the Stars’, ‘Welcome to Winter’, 'Under the Bodhi Tree'

Autobiographical anecdotes and old hippy songs make up ‘My Aunty Knew the Shah of Persia’ (true).

She sings a variety of melancholic and whimsical songs with guitar accompaniment, is a mean jaw harp player and has been seen on international boulevards and in Japanese shopping precincts playing in samba bands as an improvising surdo player (the big loud drums) and with youth groups making magic with trash (a la 'Stomp' in its infancy).

She has acted semi-professionally, playing Midi Paradoc in ‘A Resounding Tinkle’, Ratty in ‘Toad of Toad Hall’, Jean Brodie in ‘The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie’ and as ‘Mother Holly‘ or ‘Aunty April‘ (slightly ascerbic larger than life characters for street performing / festivals / parties.

Having been seduced into clowning a few years ago from a chance meeting with Nose to Nose (www.nosetonose.info)  Teri trained in fooling around and eventually became a founding member of The Fool Effect (sadly no more, one developed Parkinson‘s disease, one went blind, one left the country) an improvising group of clowns, taking stories or anecdotes from the audience, national or local news, and re-interpreting them in the fool's inimitable fashion.

From there Teri and Ali Dando, also from the Fool Effect developed a double act ‘Doris and Gladys’ a couple of theatre cleaners who carry the show when the main event doesn’t turn up.

Teri, Ali and Carol Thompson,  were on the streets again at the Summer Squall Festival in Ramsgate in August 2015 as ‘Tea Time Tales’ (Mad Hatter’s Tea Party meets Listen with Mother).

Current Fool Effect show:  'Heroes Anonymous' three biographical clown acts - with Carol Thompson and Judy Cassels

Teri is currently enjoying performing on the cabaret stage with 'In Bed with the Buddha' 'using material taken from her part in 'Heroes Anonymous'.

The cabaret stage may appear an unlikely environment in which to meet Buddhist philosophy, particularly concerning death.  However,  'In Bed with the Buddha' brings together a set of self-penned songs and personal stories inspired by the great deal of time Teri has spent sitting around with monks and nuns, pondering this and that.

The wisdom Teri brings from the Zen tradition in her songs and experiences may be deep, but comes with a generous helping of fresh wit, and a light garnish of irreverence.

Ray Edwards was born in 1954 in Staines, United Kingdom. He was fully able bodied, and the son of a Builder. He had a pretty normal upbringing. He wasn’t academically minded and instead trained in the building trade like his father, and went to work in it.

Ray married at age 24. After buying his first house with his wife, he was exposed to dry rot spray when he was renovating the house in 1980. Several months later he developed cancer of the Lymph Glands (Hodgkins Disease).

Ray had his Spleen removed and underwent Chemo and Radiotherapy. He got the all clear in 1981. Because he had lost his Spleen however, his immune system would be weakened.

He was told he wouldn’t be able to have children due to the cancer treatment. Some sperm had been frozen, and he and his wife commenced IVF.

In 1986, (conceived naturally after IVF hadn’t worked), Ray was the proud Dad of twins, a boy and a girl. However, 9 months later, in late Feb 1987 he contracted Septicaemia after cutting his hand on a manhole cover he was working on in Addlestone. Due to poisons from the infection, which spread to his four limbs, all four had to be amputated on Friday 13th March 1987. The attached draft eBook cover shows Ray several months after the amputations.

Ray had a tough time rehabilitating. He was a very rare specimen back then. Even Roehampton Hospital struggled to know how to best treat and care for a quad amputee. He went home after several months, but the strain caused marital problems and Ray took to drinking heavily. Divorce proceedings followed.

In 1989, during all this, Ray tried to commit suicide, and drove his car at high speed into an oak tree. He fell out the car relatively unscathed, the car smashed up.

Ray resolved to fight on.

Since then Ray suffered a heart attack…and survived.

He has fathered 3 more children, and remarried.

He worked as a fundraiser for the Limbless Association. While with them he attempted to climb Mt Kilimanjaro in 2011, and got to within 500 metres of the summit before a serious chest infection forced him to stop (his heart attack was 2 years prior to this). Although the expedition raised over £80,000 he discovered that the Limbless Association had made him redundant while he was being brought off the mountain.

So he set up a new charity, called Limbcare, the same year. Limbcare helps amputees and the limb impaired all over the country. It has a network of Ambassadors (most of whom are themselves amputees) who respond to any calls for help from amputees of the limb impaired (or their families) while they are trying to cope with life. Limbcare is totally reliant upon donations, much of which come from Ray doing speaking engagements for Limbcare, and direct collections from shopping centres etc.

It is a little known fact that there are approx. 120,000 amputees in the UK. Of them, approx. 750 are ex Servicemen. The rest are civilians. 8,000 people a year suffer amputations. The main reasons are Diabetes, Road Accidents, and Meningitis. Limbcare helps civilians AND ex servicemen and women.

In 2011 Ray was awarded the MBE by HM The Queen for his charitable work.

In February 2016 Limbcare received the Queen’s Award for Services to the Voluntary Sector.

Ray is now the United Kingdom’s longest surviving quad amputee.

Ray’s vision is to help every amputee that requests assistance. At present they hear from around 30%. Ray wants to raise awareness further.

Ray would like to build a purpose built rehabilitation centre for in house care of new amputees to help in every aspect of their new life, before they return home, to help the readjust to the massive changes.

Ray has done all this on a very tight budget, as has Limbcare. On top of his substantial and ongoing tasks with running Limbcare, Ray is now seeking to provide a private Motivational Speaking service to Corporations, during which he shall raise awareness of the plight of amputees, promote Limbcare, and donate part of the proceeds of the event to Limbcare. The message shall be one of inspiration, motivation and overcoming huge setbacks.

The Corporate Motivational Speaking service is called Ray Inspires. Simon Speed is Ray’s Head of Corporate Events.

How to Finally End a Relationship

How do you finally end a very wrong relationship that lingers with you after everyone has left but you?

How do you forgive someone who is dead?

How do you make peace with a violent co-parent after the relationship has ended?

What if someone's actions has destroyed your life and left you physically damaged?

We sometimes have relationships that end up placing us in impossible situations, where an amicable end seems to be impossible.

However, it is always possible to move on from the most challenging situation and find the wisdom in the experience.

Science or Spirit? The Art of Growing Young

How is it that some people retire at the mandated, government-regulated retirement age, while others seem to grow younger and retirement is not even an option for them?

Does retaining your youthfulness have to do with science, or is there something else - some magic elixir?

Ralph Maliphant tells his story and brings science together with spirit in a fascinating journey of discovery.

Ralph trained as a massage therapist at the Maitri Foundation at age 68 in 2003-2004, and completed an advanced year of training to learn the skills of Dynamic Bodywork.

He started training in the Rosen Method in 2009 and qualified as an intern in 2012, which means he is licensed to work on the public.

At age 83 getting ready to qualify as a full Rosen Method practitioner.
